About Jazmin
Jazmin Chavez is a co-founder of Alma Mia Coaching and a certified healing-centered and somatic abolitionist coach. She uses her gifts of intuition and powerful listening to support culturally diverse, first-generation, immigrant, undocumented communities, and social change organizations to center on who they are becoming.
As an undocumented Latina, she has lived and embodied the multiple ways in which white supremacy, colonization, globalization, and patriarchal systems have contributed to the false narratives of who we think we must be in order to be accepted by white dominant cultures as well as progressive and movement based communities. Her coach's stance focuses on a consistent practice of pausing, reflecting, releasing, healing, and unlearning who you are to return to your most authentic being and your journey of who you are becoming, on your terms returning back to your soul, Alma Mia. Professionally, she has over 20 years of experience working with nonprofits, progressive movements, government bodies, digital agencies, and philanthropy, and has served on boards and as a C-Suite executive.
In this journey towards liberation, together we will shift your habits, triggers, and mindset by challenging white dominant culture narratives, experiences, and personal stories, to heal and learn new ways of being. By confronting white dominant culture, while rooting down like agave in your authentic truth, we can create a bold vision for you and our collective power.
About Armando
Armando Somoza, is a co-founder of Alma Mia and a certified coach. As a parent, artist, educator, and serial entrepreneur, his coaching stance supports clients in tapping into their creative genius, surfacing and expressing their authentic voice, and activating their vision for impact in the world. The approach is rooted in helping people center in order to be their best selves for others.
His life’s work has been committed to the creative application of powerful story-telling and digital technologies as an agent of provocation, immersive learning experiences, decolonization, cultural entrepreneurship, and social change. Equity, transformation, advocacy, the creative arts, and education are at the core of his worldview and practice. As a serial entrepreneur, he has experienced and healed through numerous failures and has learned to surface and honor the lessons and insights that build the foundation for the next idea.
Our work together will activate your genius mode as we examine how to express your gifts in every aspect of your life - personal and professional. We focus on mind, body, and spirit as you activate your talents to be your best self in the service of others. Attention first generation, immigrant, BIPOC, Rising high school seniors! Join Alma Mia coaches for three days to prepare for your Senior year. In the three days together, we’ll ground you in your journey to college, confronting imposter syndrome and general college anxiety. We’ll work on your personal statement and resume and prepare a scholarship matrix. You’ll walk away with practical templates to guide you on your journey and set you up for success, as well as two personal coaching sessions for $150.
